Measuring


L.I: To compare and measure areas of the surface by counting unit squares.
Today for maths we have got this rectangle sheet. We had to measure it with the unit squares. It was easy and hard because we couldnt get the unit squares of the edge of the rectangle. It was easy to do the big squares because we used the 10 blocks that are all sticked together. We couldn't copy anyone or we couldn't look at other peoples work. This was a fun task to do with our maths group. When we got our sheet we had to write inside the squares and write the number of how big is the rectangle. The 100 ones was cool to do cause we could finished those ones faster. We didnt measure the width or lenght we measures the area of the rectangle.

Visualising

L.I To visualise and question scenes in a book
Today for reading we did visualising and questioning. When we did reading we had to pick two books for our scene. The books that i had was goosebumbs and simon the whitch. We could draw the scene on a paper or google drawing. It was cool drawing but it was too hard to draw. Goosebumps was a awesome book to do because we couldn't get a picture book we had to get a book with no pictures on it .

Media


Today we did cybersmart. We had to get into a group of 3 or 2. My group of three was Raera, Liane and Me. We learnt about media and what is was and is. We watched 2 videos so it can give some examples what we should write dowon on the google slide.

Swimming

L.I To learn how to swim

This Morning the year 5 had to get changed in the toilet hall. After when we got changed we had to line outside in a quiet lines. We went into the bus because LS1 were going to the lagoon pools. When we went there we had to sit by the chairs and take off our uniform. After the coach told us if we could do some dolphin dives and other things that we might now. The group im was with was Lorenzo. Our group did kicking facing up, Stepping in the water, Underwater Swimming and Safe entry. Our coach that we had was named Karen. We had these black platforms that we had to swim at. So we cant go over to the other teams platform. Our group did some amazing swimming tricks and the Karen also thinked it was cool. The water was nice and cold and i thought it was going to be warm.

Narrative Planner


This week for writting we learned about narratives and parodies . We had to get into a group of 3 and we had to make a narrative about our class mini olympics in term 1 .
we had to have a problem , solution , orientation a title and events .
the group people in my group is alice , and alayah .

Measuring


Today for maths we did some measuring. We couldn't do the same measure equipment to the objects that we were doing. We had to go around the class and find something to measure. It was easy and kind of hard we couldn't work in partners necause this is a one persons task. We had to write it in our books first and then write it on the google sheet.

Kiwi Can

Today we went into room 7 for kiwi Can. When we went there we had to get into 5 lines. We then had to listen to Miss Lily and Mrs Matt talk about what we were talking about last week. We know have a different topic and a different theme. Our topic is Goal settings and our theme is resilience.

Energiser:
We then went in to our energiser. Our energiser was Get in Order. It is when you have to get into a line and you have to make it into our birthdays like our mouth when we were born. It was so difficult because alot of people were running around and we couldn't get into the line.


Activity:
After Get in Order we then went into our Activity. Our Activity was called Up and Down. It is when there is 3 triangles on the mat and two hula hoops. One of the hula hoops are to throw on the cone and the other hula hoop is two stand inside it. We can't go out of the hula hoop that we had to stand in. The first Cone was 50 points other cone was 100 points and the last one was 150 points.

Quiz - Boost

L.I: To synthesise information from the text.

Today for Reading we have read this text could Boost. It is when these people get extension. Extension is adding to something to enlarge or prolong it. My partner was farzana we had to draw a person on a google draw.

Commenting


Today i have Commented on Florence's Blogpost. The connection we made was that we both did something different. Her DLO was so interesting to read because people like MnM's.

Quiz


Today this morning LS1 inquiry groups had to set in WorkSpace 2 for this quiz that we were doing. The inquiry groups names were The Cobras, The Living Inquiry Learners, Sea Lions, The Boggers, The Wolves, The Living girls, The quizzers, Class Clown Crushers and the Quiz Boys. We had to put our logo on the table that we were sitting on. My inquiry group was The Living Inquiry Learners. Mr Wong made a google form with our Inquiry Groups names on it. He made it so he can put the points on it when we get this thing right. All the groups had to do Questioning, Sculpting and Drawing. The first subject that we did was Drawing. Mr Wong will say draw the digestive system or the nervous system. After when all of the groups went up we then went with sculpting with play doh. Sometimes Mr Wong will say to sculpt a heart of an insect or sculpt a human's digestive system. After morning tea we went with questioning. Its is when the teacher asks you a question and you have to answer it start a way. The Quiz Boys said this question fast. Everybody's buzzer was to clap their hands two times above their heads. But The Wolves were taking the lead from all the other groups. They kept on getting the answer because they new what to do. Some of the questions were hard and easy. The quizzers was second for taking the lead. The Wolves had 6 points and the Quizzers hjad 4 Points and the other groups had 1 or 2. This was a awesome time doing the quiz i like it when we Sculpt, Draw and asked the questions. This was a fun time doing this with LS1.

ASB getwise


Today this morning we had this man called Jayden. He worked at the ASB bank. He wrote on the board Cash Goals. The C stand for Clear, A stand for action, S stands for save and H stand for How long. We talked about how we could save our own money. Group A went first for having there session and then group B went after them. We had so much with Jayden and teaching us how to save our cash.

fractions


L.I: Was to make Fractions
Today for maths we did Fractions. I did thirds quarters and halves. Halves has 2 pieces , quarters have four pieces and thirds have three pieces. We had to get some counters and see if it was even or odd on the paper sheet. I asked some questions only if you know what fractions are. We had to do this task by ourselves and we couldn't copy other peoples work.

Dialogue


L.I To write a narrative with dialogue
Today for writing we watched this book called The Silent Red Book. Its about a girl and a dog that have a journey together. They like to cuddle, Eat and play. First they meet where the dog was eating from the rubbish bin. The girl told him not to eat out of the rubbish bin. There were two people talking in this story and it was the girl and the dog. We should make up a name for this people in mind. We should name the girl Carrie and the dog trigger. They had a good journey together as friends. They must of stick together and be friends for the rest of the years that they have survived in. They would of been best buddies. They always will play and talk dance and sing and do other things that they like to do. Her mum wouldn't of mind to let there dog inside there house and in the bath tub. 

What we Learnt: We learnt what dialogue means.
How we Learnt: We learnt by listening to instructions.

What does dialogue mean:  
Dialogue is a written or spoken conversational exchange between two or more people, and a literary and theatrical form that depicts such an exchange. 

Matariki celebration


Yesterday afternoon we had a big celebration for matariki. The kapa haka and the pacifica group preformed. We were at the junior park having this big celebration. In the kapa haka group they did there poi and the boys did the haka. In the pacifica group the girls have so swing there hips and the boys have to swing there legs. The leader for the girls was raera. Her aunty and cousin teached the pacifica how to move there hips side to side. After or off that we had the drumming people. The people that was drumming was Andrew, Junior, Mataio and Jona. The boy that teaches them was Mrs Matt. He touht them how to drum. At the end when they were drumming they all said Matariki. After when the drumming finished the luca lady group came up and started to singing the song lean on me. Even Whaea Odie joined in with them. Whaea odie was the one who teaches the kapa haka group. After when everyone finished we then had to line up and have our sausage sizzles. The juniors have to line up on the left and the seniors have to line up on the right side. When we had sausage sizzles we had to each and then the people that preformed could get another sausage. Some of the people had to share out some if they were full of sausages. After that we then had our lunch time and then we went back to class.

Matariki


L.I To research about Matariki
Today we collaborated with LS2. We had to get into a group with a boy and a girl. The people that i worked with was Farzana, Ofa, Julian and Chris. We had to make a information Post about matariki. Matariki is the seven sisters. The seven sisters names are called Waiti, Waita, Waipuna-rangi, Tupua-nuku, Tupu-rangi, Uru-a-rangi and Matariki. Matariki is the biggest star. Matariki is the Maori new year its is when you cellabrate matariki. When you celebrate matariki you light up lamps and then you throw them in the sky.
