This week we needed to make a google draw and try and make it as a ad for the school market. We needed to finish the poster of then put it on the walls. For this task we needed to work in groups of 6 or 5.

Kiwi Sport

LI. to play doubles tennis.
We played rally's. We played in pairs. We started with challenging each other to see who will be the champions. It was normal rules. Coach Peter served the ball in. Then we start to play. We then had our two champions. It was me and my partner and the other pair. We learnt to keep our hits gentle and to make our aim better. 

Just Frame It

L.I: to know how to make a photo frame
This week we were learning how to make photo frames. We were making photo frames so other students or adults can buy it. We needed to make a medium frame and when we were finish we needed to make a small frame. We needed to design the frame on a google draw then we needed to do the painting, accessories, drawing, and adding other stuff on it so there can be some details.

Athletics Day

L.I: to have fun
On Friday we had athletics day. The colors that were chosen was Green, Red, Blue, and Yellow. For athletics day we had some guest from tamaki college to come and supervise us as we play. For athletics I was in the green team. We needed to split the classes into groups. My favourite game that I liked to play was Lilly Pad.

SSR Selfie 2019

L.I: to know what the books about.
Today I was finishing off my SSR Selfie. I was reading the book Charlie and the chocolate factory. When we do this we would need to read the book for 15 minutes so we know what it is all about.

This week I was finishing of my commenting. Today I commented on Juels Reading blogpost. I commented on his blogpost because It was entertaining when he was explaining what he was doing.

This week for Inquiry we had to take screen shots of the game coffee shop. We needed to make as much money as we can. 




Writing


L.I: to revise the structure of a recount and reaffirm the making criteria 
This week for writing we needed to write a story about Patricia and Jaerrell. First we needed to get into groups and write down a character description. Every person from each group needed to stand up and tell us some characters. If the other group got the most votes then we would need to do the character that they did. The characters that were picked was Patricia, and Jaerrell.

This week for Maths I did Basic Facts boxes. I finished of my Addition and Subtraction. Subtraction is making the number go less and Addition is making things go more up. The first layer that I did was Addition. We had to work by ourselves for this Basic Facts boxes. Addition and Subtraction is kind of hard and easy.

Kiwi Sport | Tennis

LI: to learn tennis.
For Kiwi Sport we are learning how to serve and learn how to play in twos. My favourite thing in tennis was playing is versing the professionals. The thing that I need to improve on is my serving.

Newspaper Report | Reading

L.I:to know how to make a newspaper report
This week for Reading we had to make a newspaper report about animals escaping the zoo. When we did this we needed to write down what a proper newspaper would say. The text had to be big so we can see there needed to be some photos and some details. For this reading task we needed to work individually.

Paper Airplane | Maths

L.I: to make a paper airplane 
This week for maths we were learning how to make a paper plane. We had to test how long the paper plane would stay in the air and measuring how far the plane would travel. We also needed to make a graph about the Distance & Time. My prediction wasn't correct the distance was over 7 and the time was over 1.

Maori

LI: to learn Maori
For Maori today we were translating the Maori words into English. For Maori we name our group Chur Bro. We had to translate some Maori words, all of the words we translated location words.

Kiwi Can

L.I: to know how to show respect
This week we had another session of Kiwi can. Our theme for kiwi can is Respect, and our topic is Respectful Communication. We then went into our energizer. The energizer is called Grab It. For this game we needed to get into partners. For this game I partnered up with Ong. So the other partner would need to open up there right hand and the other partner would needed to open there left hand. The other hand that isn't  open we would need to put two of our fingers on there hand and they would need to try and catch it before the other partner does. Then we started talking about Patience. Patience is when we wait quilety / silence for someone to finish. Then we went into our Activity. The activity was called Patience test. For this game we would need to get into a group and we would need to stand behind someone. We would need to put our hands on there shoulders and when Mr Sea Manu squeezes out shoulders then we would need to do it to the next person in line. The person that is in front of the line would need to run and try and get the cone before the other team does. Then we went into our points. This week our score was 50.

Show & Tell | Writing

L.I: to investigate figurative language
This week for writing we were learning about show and tell. We needed to go on the writing site and pick a setting that we would write about. For the showing sentence we had to include the 5 senses and the figurative languages. The 5 senses are Touch, Smell, Hear, Taste, and See and the figurative languages are Simile, Hyperbole, Metaphor, Personification, and Understatement.

KiwiSport

L.I: to know how to do tennis.
This week we had another session for Kiwi Sport. For kiwi sport we needed to get into a group of 6 and put 3 of the students by the nets. For kiwi sport we needed to try and aim for the cones. We needed to put the tennis ball by our shoulders and throw it and make it land on the cone. If we get it on the cone then we would get a score. One of the partners would need to stand on the other side of the net and my other partner would need to stand on the other side. When we do tennis we would need to hit the ball soft so we wont hit anyone.

Business & Enterprise | Supply & Demand

L.I: to know what happens around the world and what business is.
This week for inquiry Mr Oglivie invited a guest named Michal to come and talk to us about her business and how many foods are getting wasted. Michal's business is called FoodPrint. She has been doing this for 6 months. 

 The price range is $70 and $1. There are over 20 million loaves of bread being wasted every year in New Zealand. Wasting food can be bad for the environment, it makes extreme weathers and disasters. Footprint is a site that you can go and buy some food that is healthy or junk. There is 17,401 people using Michal's app and there is about 250 food stores working with Foodprint.

Today I commented on Kolos story. I commented on his film because I loved his singing and because it was interesting when he was telling all of us students about him. You have a really good voice and I hope you would be what you want to be in the future.

This week for Maori we were learning about No hea koe (where were from). For this Maori task we needed to work in groups. We needed to ask the students where there from and we needed to write down the maori translation of saying Aotearoa and stuff.

Kiwi Can

L.I: to show respect to others around
Today we had another session of Kiwi Can. For kiwi can we learn about respecting others and treating the environment well. Our theme for kiwi can is Respect. Respect means treating people the way that they want to be treated. Then we went into our energiser. The energiser was called quick maths. For this game we needed to get a partner.

We would need need to put 1 of our hands behind our back and we would need to take it out and have a number using our finger. If my partner had 1 finger up and I had 2 then we would need to add it all up so that would be 3. For this game I partnered up with Liletina. If we won we would need to go on the other side of the building and If we lost we would need to go to the other side. The winners would need to verse each other. The winner for that game was Hosea.

Then we started talking about how we were communicating in the game. Then we went into our Activity. The activity was called Musical Cones. So Mr would put cones on the floor and there would be students standing next to them. When the music stops we would need to grab the cone as fast as the other person. The winner for that game was Charlize. We communicated by having fun. Then we went into our points. We got 50 points.

Commenting | Manaiakalani Film festival

Today we needed to comment on any Manaiakalani schools. I watched this is us from tamaki primary school. It was amazing when they were singing and dancing.

Reading | Character web

L.I: to know the facts about the character
This week for reading I made a character web about the giraffe that is in the book The giraffe and the pelly and me. For this reading task we needed to work individually. When we did this we needed to write about its personality, looks, acts like, and its feelings.

This week I was finishing off commenting. Today I commented on Liletinas reading blogpost. Her facts about the witch was interesting and entertaining. She had little bits of mistakes but she did a good blogpost.

Supply & Demand

















LI: To learn the meaning of supply and demand.

This week for inquiry we had to make a google presentation about supply and demand. We had to define the words which were: Supply, Demand, Price, Quantity & Equilibrium and give an example of it. We had worked in groups of four. We also played a game. We connected what we learnt on the slide and used that knowledge to learn and play the game. For the game we worked in groups of three. We played four rounds of the game.

Maths | Sports that people like


L.I: to know the total of the biggest sport people like
This week for maths we were learning about what sports do people like. Basketball was the highest and Tennis was the lowest. 15 students pick Basketball and 3 students picked tennis. For this maths task we needed to work individually. We needed to go to all the students in the class.

Figurative Language


L.I: to know what figurative language is
This week for writing we were learning about Figurative language. For this writing task we needed to work individually. When we did this we needed to pick 3 different characters. The characters that I picked was Steven universe, Spongebob squarepants, and Jeff of clarence.

Kiwi Sports

L.I: to know how to play tennis
This week we had another session of kiwi sports. When we do sports we would need to get into a partner. The technique that we were learning was to not let the ball touch the ground so the other partner would have to be quick to wack it. For sports I partnered up with Liletina. We needed to try and make the ball go over there head to it can be easy to smack it. We did this we needed to put the ball on the net and let it drop. When it drops we would need to hit it.

Maori


LI: To understand and translate more about the Maori language.


This week for maths we were learning the Maori ways of saying hi and how are you?. The maori teacher that teaches us is Whaea Odie. Whaea Odie said what are you feeling and we would need to say kei te ngenge, Kei te hiamoe, Hei te hiakai, Kei te wera, or Kei te makariri. Ngene english translation is (tired), Hiamoe english translation is (Sleepy), Hiakai english translation us hungry, Wera engish translation is (Hot), and Makairi is (cold). For this Maori task we needed to work in a group of 5 or 7.

Kiwi Can

L.I: to show respect to the others around you. 
This week we had another session of kiwi can. Our theme is respect and we have no topic. Then we went into the energiser the energiser was called rock paper scissors. For this game everyone had to stand up and do rock paper scissors to someone. If they get you out you will need to get on your knees. Then you will need to find someone else that was on there knees and do rock paper scissors with them. If you get out you would be eliminated from the game. The last one that is standing would be the winner. Then we went into our activity the activity was called animal Choir. For this game there would be 4 groups and we would all be called an animal. One group was called Tigers, Pigs, Cats & Dogs. If Mr points the bottle at you then we would need to sing a song about the animal that he picked for us. We needed to say tiger tiger ra ra ra. But every group would need to say there own animal song.

Cybersmart | Legal image

L.I: to know what is a legal image
This week for cybersmart we were learning about legal images.We needed to look on this slide and see some google draw ways of getting legal images. First we needed to get into a group and we needed to name our group. Our group was called Legacy, and the other groups were called Silent Bob, AAAH, Uhmm, and Cool leaders. When we did this we needed to tell the steps of what we need to do when we are trying to get a legal image from the google draw. The group that won was the Silent bob. Our group came in second.

L.I:To know what legal and illegal image is
This week for cybersmart we were learning about what Legal, and illegal image was. When we did this we needed to work individually. For legal image we needed to write down the definition and add a attributed image. On the illegal image we needed to put a site on and we needed to add two photos and a circle over all rights reserved. 

Maori


L.I: to know the translation of the words that are in the video.
For Maori we needed to translate the words that were in the video. For this task we needed to work in a group. When we translate it we would need to go on this site called Maori Dictionary. You would just need to write down the english or maori word and it would show us the english or maori version. This maori task was easy but when we needed to do the researching it was hard but because we worked in a group it was easier.

This week for writing we were learning about Figurative and literal language. For this writing task we needed to work individually. When we did this we needed to write down the definition of figurative and literal. Also we needed to write down the figurative language strategies. When we did that we needed to write down some examples and the definition / meaning. 

Research: Roald Dahl | Reading

L.I: to know more about Roald Dahl
This week for reading we needed to research about Roald Dahl. Roald Dahl is a british author and he was served in the royal air force in ww2. For this reading task we needed to work individually. We needed to write down some information and some facts about him. We can also write down his family members.  

Maths | Question

L.I: to figure out ways to solve these questions.
This week for maths we needed to try and figure out some ways how to solve these 2 questions. For this maths task we needed to work individually. The questions that we needed to solve was Alayah had 75 pens. She destroyed 29 of them. How many pens does she have left?, and Alayah had 5 pizzas and no friends to share it with. Each pizza has 8 pieces How many are there altogether.
