L.I: To know more about the legend of Mauao
This morning we were doing Maori in Workspace 2 (two). Whea Odie was reading a New Zealand book called Ko Mauao te Maunga: Legend of Mauao. The story was about a legend that was the slave and wanted to get far away so he couldn't see the land. He fell in love with the girl that was the god of the sea. We had to go on google maps and on google. On google maps we had to search the words that were written on the board that words were: Kaimai, Maungatapu, Waimapu river, and Harini. On google we had to research on Patupaiarehe.

Patupaiarehe are little Mythical creatures. They tried to help Mauao get away with the magical ropes. The magical ropes are in the story with Maui and the Sun. We had to make a google doc. On the google doc we had to write down some Maori words. We had to write down Ko alayah taku Ingoa, Te kau nga tau, and Nā Mauinaina āu.

We had to finish it off before morning tea started. We had to do the google doc individually. But when we did research we had to work in partners. I partnered up with Liane. The first word that we researched on google maps was Maungatapu, Tauranga. Those words are where Mauao was currently taken to. We had to search the book that we were reading. We had to make a copy of the book cover then we had to paste it on the google document. We also had to say the Māori words so we knew what they are pronounce like.

What we learnt:We learnt where Mauao took place when he got dragged.

How we learnt: We learnt by research the words on google and google maps.
