Keyboarding


Today for our can do i played dancing mat. On dancing mat i teaches you how to write with two hands. You have to put your hands onfdsa and jkl;. Its not hard to write with two hands but its hard to do it with one hand because you can't getanything done.

We can pick put of any of the can dos on Maths, Reading and Writing. We can ask for help if the keboarding glichtes.

Table conga


Table conga
Today for my can do i was doing table conga.I did my 7s and 5s time tables.If you touch the x you will die and then you have to do it again from the top.You need to be careful when you get the number because then the x comes.You just need to go down then you will see all the time tables that you want to do.

kiwi can

On wensday after morning tea group B went to kiwi can in room 7. We had to get into a circle. We talked about solving problems and gettiong help. We then went into our Energiser it was called Hoop de doop. Its when there are hula hopps around the floor and people will get called a number. I was on group 2. We had to go around the hulla hoop and we had to do rock paper siccors shoot. The team that won was my team. We then went into our sctivity. It was called hit the ball. Its when you get called a number aqnd they come up in the middle of the circle and they hit the ball to try and get you out.

Today we had commenting as our must do. We had to comment on peoples blogpost. The person i commented on was Nicole. She wrote a good DLO for reading about Izanagi and izanami. I liked what she said they were and what they do.

Her google slide was interesting as well. Nicole wrote some amazing questions down. Also i liked when she did the summary for Inzanagi andd Izanami. The best part about the google slide was when she was talking about what are they.

Area

Today for maths we got a piece of paper and we had to highlight it and we had to outline it with pencil. When we did that we had to measure the height and width. 

'The height is across and the width is up. We had to work by ourselves for this maths task. This was hard to do because we had to plus big numbers. 

Traffic lights, Pedestrain crossing and Roundabouts


Today for inquiry we had to get into groups of three. We had to get into groups of three because there was only 3 subjects. The 3 subjects and Traffic Lights, Roundabouts, and Pedestrian crossing. The people that i worked with was Florence, Miiana and I.

Florence did Traffic lights, Miiana did Roundabouts and i did pedestrian crossing. This was hard because we had to search up what was the first colour on the pedestrian crossing and other information.

Persuasive writing


Today for writing we were doing Persuasive Writing. We had to highlight the worlds that are Infinitive Tense, Cause and effect, and Emotive Words like devices.

We had to work by ourselves for this writing task. It was hard and easy but we still had to do it.

Lac Long Quan


Today for reading we did myths from around the world. We had to pick out of Lac Long Quan, Mahishasura and Durga, Izanagi and Izanami, and Cuchulainn. I choose Lac Long Quan because it looked easy to do.

We had to do some questions, summary, and the lessons.I worked with Afatia because she dfidn't know what to do so i told her.

Swimming

Today Mr Wong's swimming group went to the Lagoon Pools. Today for the swimming lesson was with life jackets. When we got our life jackets on we had to do the safe entry with them on. So you have to hold your nose. Put your hand over your shoulder and you hold it tight. Then you take a big step into the water. We you get into the water you start to float. We had to do the safe entry again because people wasn't doing it as she said. The when we got into the water and we had to float on our backs. When we did that jane made us all connect like a chain. When we got into a chain miss jane started to move us around into a circle. Then we had to go to the wall and we needed to move our arms and not to kick our feet. When we did that we had to beat the other person that is next to us. We then all go into a circle and we needed to hold each others back. Miss Jane will move us around when we are moving around we got to let go and float. Miss Jane counted down to three. Then we all let go and float. We even got to get into the pool and try and put your life jacket on. When your in the pool with the life jacket you need it to float in the water and you put your back on it. Then you put your arms thru. Clip it and zip it to it is tight so you can float. We even had to call out people when you are drowning. The actions for that are to put your arms and hand straight and say HELP! HELP!.

Auckland CityScrapper Art


L.I: To make a CityScrapper
Today LS1 did a CityScrapper Art. The city scrapper that i choose the auckland City. We had colours spread around the table that we had to pick for the background of the city.  We had to search up a background for the city so it looks fabulous.

We had to find Shapes in the background that we choose. We didn't cut out the city other people that were finished Cut it out. But the rest of the Details were from me. We had to work by ourselves but we could get into the groups.

SnagGolf

Yesterday Group b went to the hall to play SnagGolf. We had to get into groups of three. My group was Florence and Victoria. First we had to have Victoria the back stop so that means  Florence haves her turn and I waiting for my turn. Florence got Snag 3 times in a row. When we got the stick we had to move it like tic tock on the clock. When we had the stick we cant hit someone with it.

Procedure Planner

This week for Writing we did Procedure Planner. We learnt how to make a cube with 12 toothpicks and Blu-Tack. We had to work by ourselves for this Math Task. We had to watch Mr Wong Do it and then we had to do it.

Mahishasura & Durga

This week for reading me and Sakina were doing Mahishasura & Durga Lessons. We had to make a google slide to talk about what they are and what they do. We even need to do the summary and Mahishasura & Durgas Lessons. 

Different kinds of Foundation and Footings

This week for Inquiry we were learing about Different Kinds of Foundation and Footings. We had to make a google slide with your group of 3. The girls that were in my group was Florence, Liletina, and Me. The text that we had to talk about was Slab, Wall, Column, Pier,  and Cassen. When we wrote about it we had to draw what the text is and what they do. Last week for Inquiry we were learning about Structures. On tuesday we went to the skytower and we learnt a lot of things about it and where you do when theres a fire or terrible danger.

Kiwi Can

L.I: To show Resilience and Respect
Today half of LS1 went to kiwi Can. When we got to Room 7 we had to get into a circle. We started to talk about what we were talking about last Wensday when we were at Kiwi Can. Then we went into our Energiser. Our energiser was called Human knot. Human knot is when you have to get into a group of 6 and you have to hold your partners hand. Then you have to untangle all of your hands. We had to try and bet the other groups that were doing it. The first Group that finished was My group. Then we went into our activity. It is called Mat Dodge. It when you get called a number and everyones in a circle with a ball. If misses or mrs says a number they will have to get in and people have to hit them with the ball and you cant throw the ball you have to roll the ball. The people that won had to get in and people had to hit them.

SkyTower Trip


L.I: To learn more about the SkyTower.
Today LS1 went to the SkyTower. We went to the SkyTower because we went to go and see some things about structures and the SkyTower. When we got into the SkyTower we had to take a photo and then we had to go to the Elevator. In the Elevator there was some class that you could look out from. When we went all the qay up to the top we got this paper that we had to fill. We had to write the name of that island or Buildings. There was some class that you could look out to see where those islands and bulidings were. People steped on the class that was onthe floor and they were looking down. We even saw someone jump of the SkyTower and they landed on this tramp. Then we went to this safe area that if they have a fire or a desaster. In there, there is taps and other safe stuff. The cool won is when the fire fighters break out of the thick wall and save you. Then we went to go and watch a video. We watched videos when it was made how tall is it and does it get shocked by Lighting. Also did you know that 500,00 people Visit the SkyTower to look around, Do the sky walk, and sky jump. This is whta the hight is for the SkyTower it is 328 metres High. The SkyTower Weighs 21 Million Kilograms. The SkyTower was made and Bulit in 3 of August 1997. It took along time to build the SkyTower.

Keyboarding


Today i did one of our can dos. This Can do is called Dancing Mat. Its when you learn how to type with both of your hands. When you start to write you put your fingers on jkl and asdf. This is a good Can Do to do.

Area of Rectangles.



L.ITo calculate the area of shapes using Multiplication and addition.
This week for maths we did Area of Rectangles:Planter Boxes. We had to get a ruler to measure the width and the length and the Area. We did other boxes that were hard to do because they were bigger.

Procedural Writing

L.I:To identify the structure and language features of a procedural text. 
This week for Writing we learnt about Procedural Writing. In procedural writing you need Structures. The structures is T.E.M.P.S. Temps stands for Title, End Results, Materials Used, Pictures and Steps. Then we had to do the purpose of Procedural writing and you also need to write about What is procedural writing. We had to write about Pictures, Steps, Materials Used, Title and End Results.

Maui


L.I: Make a DLO teaching about the story and the lesson this story teaches people.

This week for Reading we talked about Maui. We had to use our reading stratgeies to talk about Maui and what he is. The reading Strategies are Visualising, Inferring, Activating Prior Knowledge, Predicting, Self-Monitoring, Questioning, Summarising, Sythnesising and Making Connections. I also think Skim and Scanning is a reading strategie to. When we did this we had to work by ourselves.

Bridges


Today for Inquiry we had to go on google maps. We had to get 10 bridges to talk about. I did 8 bridges to talk about. We had to do international bridge and national Bridges. In the edit box you have to do the Construction Date, Cost, Materials and Type of Birdge. Construction date is when that bridge is made so the year Built. We had to compare and contrast Panmure bridge to a international Bridge. Some Bridges have the same Materials, Cost and what is the Type of the bridge. We had to do this inquiry task by ourselves. When we want the bridge to stay on the google maps you have to push the plus and you can changed the colour of the dot. We had to pick the Bridges we already new by not find new ones that you don't know.

What we learnt: We learnt how to use google my maps.
How we Learnt: We got taught.

Smart Media


Today for cybersmart we got sent a google slide about smart media. We had to take a photo on slide 5. On slide 5 it says Media Construction: Images of myself. The you take a photo on slide 6. On slide 6 it says School image. SO that means that you have to take a photo of you in your uniform. There will be a word cloud that you have to hop on. You can write some stuff down on it and then you can take a screenshot and it will be right there in your folder. The there will be a slide that says Friends or Family images. The other slides are different comparing to the photo slides.

Tengu


Today for reading we were learning about a legendary creature called Tengu. When we did reading we had to sit down on the mat and read the story about Tengu. I wrote some information about tengu for you guys to know what he is like and what he is. If you want to know about Tengu go on the articles.

Commenting


Today i've commented on Florence's blogpost. She wrote a good DLO about her bridges.
She i really good at writing abotu Birdges and other Structures that are around New Zealand.

SnagGolf

This week for kiwi sport we did SnagGolf. We had to get into groups of 3. My group was Victoria, Sila and I. There had to be a back stopper because we had to get the balls when they miss the snag board. Everybody in your group had to get a turn. When they all have a turn they have to sit down and put there hands on there heads. Then we do other stuff with our groups of threes. We did some challenges with different groups.

Area of Rectangles and time tables

Today for maths we got a maths sheet. On that sheet was Rectangles but different type. It said on the paper Area of Rectangles and time tables. We had to measure the length and width so we can get the answer. When we measure we had to put it int time tables. We had to work by our selves for this task.

The girl who slipped
Orientation

There was a girl that went to the river to climb things. She liked playing on rivers, and she goes there everyday when her parents go to work. She found this big rock and she went on it to jump on the other big rock. She went to this small one and she bend over to make it like a bridge.
Problem

When she bend down she slipped off the rock and she fell into the water. She started drowning. She tried to swim but the water was pushing her down by the waterfall.
Events

  1. She was moving as quick as possible. She started to hit some little rocks that where underneath her. She started to pull down tears because she was scared.

  1. She started to call out “HELP ME!”. She was nearly at the end of the waterfall.

  1. She heard a car beeping so she started to scream out “HELP ME PLEASE !”. She said it over and over again. She found a tree hanging down. She grabbed the tree and climb up on it. She could clearly speak then because she was out of the water.

  1. When she was calling out her parents followed the sound of her voice. Her parents found her hanging on the tree. The parents said “OMG we should go and help her she might die”. The dad said “Okay let's called the ambulance and police”. Her dad calls the police and the ambulance to help her.
Solution

So the ambulance and the police went there as quickly as possible. The police helicopter came to get her off the tree and put her by her parents. She went to her parents and started saying “Im never coming here again its to dangerous”. They drove back home to have a happily ever after.


Today for writing we had to pick a photo to write about. I picked this girl that was bending down on these big rocks. We always need a TOPES in narratives. T stands for Title, O stands for Orentation, P stands for Problem, E stands for event and s stands for solution. We had to work by ourselves for this writing task.

This VS That




Today for inquiry we did This VS That. We had to do when it was built, What are the materials, How much does it cost?, and whats the Length, Width, Height and Span. It was hard because we had to search it up on sites so we can get the information for these bridges. We could work by ourselves or in buddies. In till we had to chose one of those i chose buddies. My buddy was Sandra. We had to do three google drawings. On one of the google drawings one of our bridges is the harbor bridge. The next bridge was the blue water bridge and the other bridge was called Te Rewa Rewa Bridge. We could search on wikipedia, Wikimedia, Kiddle and other stuff that you can search on. These Bridges are structures.

Kiwi Can


L.I: Is to be respectful when we are at Kiwi Can
Today at kiwi can we went to room 7. We had to sit down in four lines with boys and girls. We than talked about what we talked last Wednesday. After we went into our energiser. Our energiser was called snatch. Its when everybody has to get into a circle and there is a long string that is in front of you.  There will be cones in the middle of the circle and there will be music playing. When the music stops playing we have to snatch the cone out from the middle of the circle. If nobody has a cone then they are out and they have to sit out of the game. When there is a little bit of people Mrs Matt takes 2 cones out from the middle and there might be 10 cones in the middle of the circle. Matthew and Andrew were the last people standing. There was only one cone in the middle of the circle. Miss Lily tricked Matthew. When the music is playing they cant go into the circle. When the music isn't playing you can go into the circle. Andrew won the game. He just ran into the circle as fast as he can. After we had our Activity. It is called Octopus. Its when Mr Matt is in the middle of the square. He has to stand inside the hula hoop. Mrs Matt can't hop out of the hula hoop . Miss Lily will say to hop to the other side or walk normally to the other side. Mrs Matt has two noodles. If he smacks as with it then we are taggers as well. It was hard and easy but it was still fun to do. Lorenzo was the last one to stand. Everyone circled him and tried top tag him. Everyone tagged him fast as they could. The only part that was hard is the boys they keep on pushing into us. Our goal was to get to the other side were the boys were and the boys have to go on our side. Then we had to sit into our 4 lines. We were talking about what was happening in the game. We then went into our JKQ. Its when the teachers ask you questions and you have to answer it. The questions that they say are good ones and hard and easy ones. The people that we in front of the line had to stand up. We had to have a buzzer. Our buzzer is we had to put our hands on our head and then we have to say our name. Everyone in the lines had there turn. Then we went into our points. If we have the most points then we can have free lunch with group B. Group A is the people that are young and group B is the people that are older.  On the list it has Respect, Teamwork, Participation and other good stuff that we have to work on when we are at Kiwi Can. Then we had to wait for Mr Wong to say when we can go back to class so we can do our learning or work.

Narrative - The lost family

L.I: To write a quick narrative
Today week for writing we did a narrative planner. Half of LS1 had to pick a scene that we wanted to write about. We got to remeber to do paragraphs and it always has to make sense. The scene that we did was the lost family. Its when a boy named Jeff and his sister called jess went out and found a bird called pigeon. 

Panmure Bridge School


Today for inquiry we were learning about structures of bridges that were in the 1950. We had to get into a group of three. My group was Miiana and Raera and I. We had to get photos on and we have to write why does it interest us and why does it interest us. On our slides we had Impact and future.

Swimming


L.I: to learn how to swin.
Today this afternoon year 5s went to the YMCA pools. Our coach that helped us was Kamren. In our group we had Sulia, Fau, Fanini, Lorenzo and Sione A. The things that we did was star fish, stepping into the water, safe entry, floating on our back and floating and kicking facing down. Safe entry is when you put bith of your hands on the side and then you hop inside the pool. The star fish is when you open your legs wide and your hands. The stepping into the water is when you have to stand up and take a big step into the water. When you are into the water you tuck your legs together so you wont hit the ground. The floating on your back is when you kick of the platform and then you face up and just relax. The floating and kicking is when you face up relax but just kick your legs straight. Before we went Mr Wong rolled us to see if the people are there. When we get on the bus Mr Wong has to count us so he can no that the people that were on the roll were there on the bus. Even when we hopped of the bus he has to count  us again so he cant live some people behind.

Myth,Legends and Fairytale


Today we had to finish of our must dos. I was going to finish of my reading but i finished off my writing. For writing we were learning about Myth, Legends and Fairy Tales. A myth explans mysteries. Fairy tales have magical creatures. Legend is a semi-true story. We had to get into partners for this writing task. My partner was Sulia. We had to Compare all of the 3 texts altogether.

Kiwi Can


L.I: To show resilience
Today for Kiwi Can half of LS1 went to room 7. When we got to room 7 for kiwi can we had to sit in 4 lines. First we were talking about what was our theme and topic. Out topic is goal settings and our theme is resilience. Goal means like if you are acheiving something. Then we went intp our energiser. Our energiser is called Snatch. So its when you have some stripps in your pocket and people have to snatch it off you. The girls planned to take the boys one first so the girls can be the last one standing. But when its just girls we can snatch it off them. I was the first person to stand and i won that first round but ine the secound round me and viliami were the last ones standing. We couldn't Snatch it off because the students were counting to finish off so we can get into our points. We were talking about what we were doing last wensday. After that we went into our points. We had 24 points like group A

Smart Media


L.I To understand there is a purpose for media.
Today for Cybersmart we were learning about Media. Media is a construction. Construction means creating something. We watched two videos and we had to read some aticals of some stuff that has been put up on kiwi kids news. One of the videos were the incredible 2 trailer and the secound video was the warehouse everyday. We had to see what is showen and what is the pupose of this video. We have got sent this google slide. It was blank so we had to take a photo of ourselves and put it up by images of myself. Then you had to get a school image of your hole school. The next slide is your friends and family. My friends are Victoria, Nicole, Liane, Florence and other people. We didnt actullay had to copy anyone for this task cause you have your own friends and you have your own family. We can make inspriring presentations or impacted presentation.
