Writing | Advertisting


L.I: to know how to do the meaning and to know how to describe a photo. 
This week for writing we were learning how to identify the image and to know the meaning of words. We had to write down the meaning for Graphics, Static Image, Tracking, and Font. Graphics is when the quality is clear, static image is when the image is see able, tracking is when you locate where something is and font is when you see the text. We also needed to write down what the man was doing and what was going on. The company the mans working for is the headphone company. The headphone company want to band the headphones because when people go on vacations and they cant hear anything then they might fall they might get hit or they might fall down the cliff. So thats why the company's banding them. For this task we needed to work in groups. I grouped up with Farzana, Oscar, Lukah, Siale, Te Raumati, and I. 

Basic Facts Boxes (BFB)


L.I: To get more better at basic facts boxes.

This week for Maths I did Basic Facts boxes. I finished of my Addition and Subtraction. Subtraction is making the number go less and Addition is making things go more up. The first layer that I did was Addition. We had to work by ourselves for this Basic Facts boxes. Addition and Subtraction is kind of hard and easy.

SSR Selfie

L.I: to know how to describe the book we are learning about
Today I picked the book called Bears of the ice (the keepers of the keys). I picked this book to write about because it looked interesting and because the beginning of the story was entertaining. This book was about heaps of bears crossing the ice that was melting (breaking apart). The sad part in this story was when one of the bears fell into the cold water. For this task we needed to work individually. Individually means working by ourselves. When we do ssr selfie we would need to read the book for 15 minutes so we know what the book is about. 

Measuring | Maths

L.I: what is area and perimeter
This week for maths we were learning how to measure objects that was around the class. We had to measure 3 objects and we had to write down how we figured out the answer. For this maths task we needed to work individually. Individually means working by ourselves. We also needed to write down the area and the perimeter of the objects that we were using. I measured 2 playing boxes and I also measured a chrome book. The chrome book was 551cm spaced, the tune into tens box was 720cm, and the bingo box was 450cm.  

Inquiry | Pulley


L.I: To know what Pulley is and what it can do
Today we were learning about the activity Pulley. For this game you will need to have 2 sticks and some rope. There would need to be 2 or more students on each of the sticks and the person in the middle would need to pull. If they can't pull they would need to use the rope that is looping around the sticks. The person that is pulling the rope would need to pull hard because there would be strong people holding the sticks. We even need to finish of our poster. We needed to write down the answers for the 3 questions and we needed to create a machine that has pulley included. Pulley can move things and pulley is hidden in elevators and cars.

Kiwi Can

L.I: to focus more (not get distracted)

Today we had another session at room 7 for kiwi can. We learned how to not get distracted and to focus more on what our teachers are saying. Distracted means to fall out of focus. Many things can distract us like people talking or physically annoying each other. To learn about distraction we played a game called Distraction Circle. To play the game there would be 4 people surrounding someone and that you will need to distract them.

Today I commented on Charlize's Inquiry blog post. I commented on her task because she explained what she was doing and her poster was really interesting. She also explained who she grouped up with and what they use to make the incline plane.

L.I: to describe more about the book you are reading
Today we had to finish off our SSR selfie. The book I was reading and describing about was I am a dolphin. It tells you about different types of dolphins and what they do underneath the water. Dolphins are kind of like humans they are warm blooded, they are living things, they cant breath underneath the water so they will need to go up for air.

Maths | P & A

L.I: What is perimeter and area. 
This week we were learning about the perimeter and the area of these shapes. We needed to make a google draw and we needed to write down the perimeter and the area. First we had to cut out some shapes on a paper then we needed to use the sala tape to tape it back together. For this maths task we needed to work individually. 


What is Perimeter:
Perimeter is the distance around the outside of a shape. 
What is Area:
Measures the capacity of the inside of the shape.

Speech Performance 2019

L.I: to have the confident's to stand up in front of students.

Today we had a guest from Tamaki College come to judge the students that were involved in the speech finals. There were juniors and seniors doing the speeches. The judge name was Mr Stevenson. Most of the juniors were doing Poems and the Seniors were talking about events and words. My favourite out of all of them were Micaela and Jack. I picked Micaela because she had the confident to stand up and she was loud when she was speaking, I also picked jack because he was speaking loud and clear. Micaela was talking about the Humpty Dumpty poem and Jack was talking about plagiarism. The age was 5 to 12yrs old.

Ihumatao | Reading


L.I: To identify the main ideas in a text.
Today we were finishing of the second to last slide. We were learning about the ihumatao event. The slide that we were working on was talking about what side were on and why were on that side. I think that the traditional Maori people should take back there land because its there property. Everyone that is invited to the event wants the Prime Minister involved because she can tell them if they can or if they cant.

Kiwi Can

L.I: To show resilience and self control, and self discipline. 
Today we had our next session for Kiwi Can. We know have a new topic and theme. The theme is Resilience and our topic is self control and self discipline. Resilience means coping with challenges and bouncing back, and self control means controlling oneself, in particular one's emotions and desires, especially in difficult situations, and Self discipline means the ability to control one's feelings and overcome one's weaknesses. 

After we went into our energizer, our energizer that we did was Head Shoulder Knees and toes. For this game we would need to get into partners and we would need to get a cone. When Mrs Latu says toes then we would need to try and get the cone. First we had 2 practices and then we went into realses. Who ever gets the cone first then they would need to verse the other person that won to get the cone. The student that I partnered up with was Sulia.

 If you lose then you will need to go to the other side of the room and the winners would have to go on the other side. Then we went into our activity. Our activity was called Acting scenarios. So we would have to get into groups and we would need to act what the card says. The play that we did was two students were bullying a student and they ask the other students to join in with them. The other students will need to tell the bullies to stop bullying Ong. Then we went into our points. The words are Respect, Encouragement, teamwork, participation, and Resilience.

L.I: identify the four areas of print design rules.
Today we were learning about the print design rules. We needed to move the slides into the right print design rules. We also needed to put the thumbs up for the good slides and we needed to put the thumbs down for the ugly one. For this cyber-smart task we needed to work individually. Individually is working by ourselves. We also needed to look properly at the poster so we know what to put it in.

This week for commenting I commented on Faus reading blog post. Her blog post was talking about what happened when the Ihumatao event happened. I liked how she explained what she was doing and how her and her group was working as a team. 

Making a cube | Maths

L.I: to make a cube using paper.
This week for maths we were learning how to make a cube using tablets and glue. We needed to draw a cube on a paper then we needed to cut it out. The squares of the cube needed to be 4cm long. We needed to cut it out nice and neet. The tablets will need to be in the cube so it can stick or together. For this maths task we needed to work individually.

L.I: To know more about Ihumatao.
Today for reading we were learning about Ihumatao. Ihumatao is a event when people consider to make new houses. Today we only needed to finish of 4 slides. We needed to go on this site when this event happened. We needed to finish this off in till the end if the day. For this reading task we needed to work individually.

Rube Goldberg


L.I: to learn more about technology and inventing.
This week for Inquiry we were learning about Rube Goldberg. Rube Goldberg is a well known person because he is a actor, author, sculptor, cartoonist, and a inventor. We needed to make a google slide and we needed to write about his Why, When, How, What, and Who. For this inquiry task we needed to work in groups of 6. I grouped up with Liane, Angelica, Jay-Lee, and Juel.

The Lion King Performance

Today we had a performance from the Ormiston Junior College. They were practicing the performance of the Lion king. They took over 12 weeks to practice and set it all up. My favorite character in this performance was Rafiki. I like Rafiki because she had a good voice and she was really good at acting. The best thing was that they needed to practice there lines so they wont make a mistake.

 I liked the scene when Rafiki was singing and when Simba defeated Skarr. The director of the lion king performance was Ryan. The principal of the school is lol. It took 2 hours because they were performing the Lion king and because we weren't watching the movie. There was heaps of local schools coming to watch them perform. They made some mistakes but they kept on going on. Ormiston Junior College had to practice there performance in the dance studio.

Resilience - Means coping with challenges and bouncing back
Emotions - Means feeling strong things. 

Today we had our next session of kiwi can in room 7. We found out what our catch phrase meant. The catch phrase was talking about letting all our emotions out. We then went into our energizer. The energizer was called emotion cards. Its when you will need to find the right card that has the same emotion as you. When we find our group we will need to make it go into less to more. So my words was misery.
 Misery means miserable. Then we started talking about our catch phrase and what it meant. Then we went into our activity. Our activity was called act it. So we will get given a card and we will need to act out what it says. The play we did was the x factor role. So she will be shy and scared and her besties will come in and say you got this. Then she wont be shy anymore. Then we needed to get back into our 4 lanes. Then we started talking about what we were acting.
